This is one of many Norm Grabowski skull shifters that Flat-top Bob Owens has in his collection. This particular handcarved shifter knob was in Norm's Kookie 2 vehicle for a few years and can be seen in several promotional posters and photos of Norm. 

Congratulations to Bill Akin of Hermitage Tennessee. Mr. Akin showed his 1953 Kurtis Kraft KK 500B "Bardahl Special" at the 2010 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance last August. Mr. Akin won first place in the open wheeled racecar class "W". The Bardahl car also won the Tony Hulman Trophy for historically significant in open wheel racing.
