Introduction
My name is Richard Reesman, creator of the web site Rumpsville.
Originally named after a CARtoon
by Pete Millar named "The Saga of Rumpville" and
later coined in a Sports Illustrated article "The
Car Cult from Rumpsville". Thirty years later
Rumpsville became the first hotrod related web site and is honored to proclaim Pete Millar as Mayor!
Over the years there have been many updates to the site from Norm's
photo gallery to blog entries and more. Rumpsville has had several
looks which I try to keep clean and easy to navigate. I hope everyone enjoys Rumpsville and I want to thank Norm Grabowski and the Millar Family.
I was born a Fink, or better put a "Rat Fink". I use the term Rat Fink in honor of the king of "ALL IS ART" Ed Roth, in reference to those who
gray the lines between art and the automobile.
Perhaps graying the lines between art and engineering is a stretch... But dig this, take a guy like Ed Roth. The
artist behind the "Rat Fink" character, and builder of concept cars like the Beatnik Bandit and and several chopper trikes. Give him a motor, some iron stock and a gallon of paint and he would build a working vehicle.
Most importantly it would express the personality of it's creator's intent. Ed always had a strong personality and it lives in his creations or as I'd say his art!
The Born a Fink Photo Gallery was the basic concept behind Rumpsville.com when it originally launched in April 1995.
The images are of myself, my parents and grand parents with their automobiles. Check out these pages in the "Born A Fink Gallery" to the right in the quarter panel portion of this page. |
| Hype: "Richard Reesman was the first "Rat Fink" on the Information Highway. His love for the traditional hotrods, web site design and all things low-brow, rockets this cat and his highboy towards hotrod Heaven!" -unknown |
